A secondary examination examinee died after being attacked by an elephant. The incident happened in the Maharaj Ghat area of ​​the Mantadari area of ​​Rajganj district of Jalpaiguri. 16-year-old Arjun was going to take the first big test of his life by riding a bike with his father. In the morning when he was on the way to his examination center, suddenly an elephant came out of the forest. The father managed to escape but took his son to the forest with his trunk. He was later rescued and taken to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

The incident casts a shadow of grief in the Takimari area. Forest personnel of Belakoba range reached on the spot.
Locals said that Vishnu Das, a resident of Takimari, had left for the secondary examination center with his son on Thursday morning. The examination center was Belakoba Cablepara High School. On the way there, an elephant came out to chase from the Baikunthapur forest. Bishnu Babu managed to escape. The elephant attacked the boy in front of his eyes.
after this incident resident was rescued and taken to a super specialty hospital in Jalpaiguri. The doctors there declared him dead.

After the incident, there was an atmosphere of mourning and anger against the administration in the area.
Regarding the incident, Ranger Sanjay Dutt said, the locals are told that there is a danger of elephants on that road, but if they take an alternative road, they have to travel 15 kilometers. So many people use that road. Although initiatives are always taken to warn the locals, said Sanjay Babu.
