School in Assam takes collected single-use plastic as fees from its students

A NGO, Akshar Foundation situated at Pamoli area of Guwahati, Assam runs a schools for its local children in the area mostly for the under privileged one. The NGO is based on restoring and balancing the natural environment through plastic recycling.

Co-Founder of the NGO, Parmita Sarma said that their school do not charge fees in currency notes instead they asks the students to collect single use plastic from their area and bring it to the school daily as school fees.

According to the sources, the students bring 25 single use-plastics daily to the school. Further, the NGO is championing on the cause of environment, gender quality, Children’s education and social responsibility.
