Samsung India has launched the second edition of its national skilling initiative, ‘Samsung Innovation Campus,’ aimed at empowering the youth in cutting-edge technology domains. This initiative underscores Samsung’s commitment to nurturing talent and contributing to India’s growth trajectory.
The programme, tailored to cater to future-tech areas such as AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding & Programming, targets youth aged 18-25 years. With a focus on enhancing employability, Samsung Innovation Campus aims to equip participants with the skills necessary to thrive in the digital age. A key highlight of the programme is the recognition of national toppers in each domain, who will be awarded a cash prize of INR 1 Lakh and offered an exclusive opportunity to visit Samsung facilities in Delhi/NCR. This visit will enable students to engage with Samsung’s leadership team and receive valuable mentorship.
Mr. JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, expressed Samsung’s long-standing commitment to the nation’s growth and reiterated the alignment of their vision with government initiatives such as Skill India and Digital India.Partnering with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), Samsung aims to train 3,500 students across the country. ESSCI will facilitate training through its network of approved partners, extending the programme’s reach to smaller towns. Dr. Abhilasha Gaur, Chief Operating Officer of ESSCI, praised the initiative for its potential to bridge the skills gap and make students job-ready in emerging technology sectors.The programme, set to commence in April 2024, will span eight educational institutions across four states, offering a blend of offline and online learning, immersive hackathons, and expert mentorship. It builds on the success of the inaugural season, which trained 3000 students in 2023.
