Samsung Solve for Tomorrow spurs startup spirit among Tripura youth

Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow 2025 competition is catalyzing a wave of innovation among college students in Tripura, offering INR 1 crore to the top four teams for project incubation, alongside mentorship from Samsung executives and IIT Delhi faculty. This initiative is expanding Samsung’s footprint beyond metro cities into India’s Northeast, encouraging young entrepreneurs to develop practical solutions for local challenges.

In Agartala, Bir Bikram Memorial College and Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya have emerged as innovation hubs. Students like Tarit Chakma are focusing on affordable smart drainage systems to address water logging in tribal areas, while others like Sangeeta Dey plan to create digital mental health tools in local languages. Tech enthusiasts are exploring wearable health devices, and eco-tourism ideas aiming to empower artisans and conserve forests are gaining traction.

Agartala, known for their vibrant trade in handicrafts and local produce, stand to benefit from this innovative surge. As young innovators propose socially driven business models, these markets could experience a boost in tech-enabled entrepreneurship, fostering economic growth and sustainable development in the region. Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow is fostering a startup mindset in Tripura’s youth, positioning the state as an emerging node in India’s innovation landscape.
