New Delhi, July 8, 2024: Samsung India has announced the selection of 100 teams for its prestigious CSR initiative, ‘Solve for Tomorrow’. Aimed at nurturing innovation among India’s youth, the initiative has shortlisted 50 teams each from the ‘School Track’ and ‘Youth Track’. These teams will now advance to the regional rounds starting in mid-July.
This year’s competition has expanded its reach to include remote areas such as Khurda in Odisha, Kachar and Kamrup Rural in Assam, and Amreli in Gujarat. In the Youth Track, focusing on ‘environment and sustainability’, participants tackled pressing issues like deforestation, plastic waste management, and water conservation. Meanwhile, the School Track, themed ‘community and inclusion’, addressed challenges such as mental health awareness and digital literacy among economically disadvantaged groups.
Ahead of the regional rounds, 232 participants from these diverse teams will receive specialized training in presentation and communication skills. SP Chun, Corporate Vice President of Samsung Southwest Asia, emphasized the impact of the initiative on local communities and the innovative potential of India’s youth. From a Kharagpur market perspective, the initiative has sparked interest among local innovators, fostering a climate of entrepreneurship and problem-solving in the region.The top two teams from each of the five regions in both tracks will proceed to the national level, receiving extensive mentorship and visiting Samsung’s Regional Headquarters in Gurugram and R&D Centres across India.
