In response to the high costs of petroleum products on the global market, the government on Friday extended the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) subsidy of Rs 200 per LPG cylinder by one year. 9.6 crore families will gain from the change.
The minister announced that the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs had approved a subsidy of Rs 200 every 14.2 kg cylinder for up to 12 refills each year for PMUY recipients.
