On 2nd of November 2021, Guwahati Metro, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Guwahati Metro, inaugurated SABALA, a women empowerment campaign. The program’s goal was to enable women from lower socioeconomic backgrounds to become self-sufficient. In collaboration with Ratna Peeth Education, the Rotary Club of Guwahati Metro provided a three-month sewing machine instruction for ten women as part of the programme. The training was completed on February 2nd, 2022.
The primary guest at the event was Honorable Justice Rumi Kumari Phukun. Past Rotary District 3240 District Governors Rotarian Prabhat Kumar Kedia and Rotarian Arijit Endow, as well as current Assistant Governor Rotarian Krishna Baruah, were in attendance.
