Reliance Retail launches youth fashion retail brand ‘Yousta’

In January, ET reported that Reliance Retail was planning to launch a value apparel format to directly compete with Tata’s Zudio, Landmark Group-owned Max, and Shoppers Stop’s new mass-value brand InTune.

All products on Yousta are priced below Rs 999, with most priced below Rs 499.

Akhilesh Prasad, President and CEO, of Fashion & Lifestyle, Reliance Retail said, “The team will continue to work with India’s younger generation to understand their evolving fashion needs.”

Experts say India’s consumption structure has been skewed in the past to a narrow base of affluent consumers who account for a large share of the overall market.

However, as the economy expands across more cities and the impact reaches further down the income ladder, the value-format and value-brand scope expands.

Yousta has partnered with a nonprofit to allow customers to donate old clothes to the store and use them for community programs.

Reliance Retail Limited is a subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), the holding company of all retail companies under the RIL (Reliance Industries Limited) Group. RRL and RRVL’s other affiliates and affiliates operate an integrated omni-channel network of more than 18,500 stores and digital commerce platforms across grocery, consumer electronics, fashion & lifestyle, and pharma.
