Reliance Foundation Hospital gets Calls Threatening Mukesh Ambani & Family

The Reliance Foundation Hospital on Monday acquired calls threatening Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his family, following which the Mumbai Police launched an investigation, leading to the detention of a 56-year-old man.

At least eight calls were reportedly received from a wide variety starting at 10:45 a.m. The hospital authorities lodged a complaint with the DB Marg police station and the police initiated the procedure to tune the location of the caller.

Officials said a 56-year-old man named Vishnu Bhowmik was arrested in Mumbai’s Dahisar suburb. The suspect was reportedly taken to the DB Marg police station.

In a statement, Dr Tarang Gianchandani, CEO, of HN Reliance Hospital, said the calls have been obtained soon after the flag-hoisting ceremony at the hospital.

Police officers before on Monday said a preliminary inquiry counseled the caller was once mentally unstable.

Sources informed News18 that Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been deployed around the Ambani home, in addition to the improved presence of police and private security.

In February last year, an explosives-laden SUV used to be observed parked outside ‘Antilia’, the house of Mukesh Ambani and his household in Mumbai, leading to an ongoing NIA investigation.

In July this year, the Supreme Court had allowed the Centre to continue with the protection cowl for Ambani and his household participants in Mumbai, quashing proceedings on a PIL on the count number before the Tripura High Court.
