The Tripura government has launched a mobile app aimed at improving oversight and efficiency in monitoring Anganwadi centres across the state. Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy unveiled the ‘Anganwadi Center Inspection and Monitoring App’, designed to streamline the supervision of around 10,000 centres serving 400,000 children.
The app features real-time monitoring, allowing officials to conduct inspections only within a 50-metre radius, automated reporting after each visit, and photo uploads to provide visual evidence of centre conditions. It also tracks the frequency of inspections by staff.
“This app will generate detailed reports after every inspection and store the data for future use,” Minister Roy said, highlighting the government’s broader plan to upgrade Anganwadi services. The improvements include infrastructure upgrades, nutrition, education, and activities such as sports and vegetable cultivation.
The initiative aligns with the ‘Mission Able Anganwadi’ and ‘Poshan 2.0’ programmes aimed at enhancing child health and nutrition monitoring. Roy also mentioned that Anganwadi workers are equipped with mobile phones to track nutrition services for children and mothers, ensuring better oversight.
