Continuing its commitment to fostering girl child education, RBL Bank, a prominent private sector bank in India, distributed 300 bicycles to underprivileged girl students in Guwahati, Assam, under its CSR initiative – UMEED 1000.
The donation event, held at the Khanapara Sports & Cultural Organisation, witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Smt. Aruna Rajoria, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary to Govt. of Assam, and senior representatives from RBL Bank. The initiative aims to tackle the challenge of access to education, particularly for those hindered by distance, by providing energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable means of transportation.
R Subramaniakumar, Managing Director and CEO of RBL Bank, reiterated the bank’s dedication to social responsibility, stating, “In line with our mission of ‘Community as the Cause’, we stand fully committed to helping marginalized communities with our unique CSR outreach programs.” Through UMEED 1000, RBL Bank is set to distribute over 2000 bicycles and school kits across various cities in India, including Patiala, Jaipur, and Nagpur.
