RBI 100 Days 100 Pays Campaign RBI has announced the 100 Days 100 Pay campaign. In this campaign, the unclaimed deposits of the bank can be detected as well as the settlement of that deposit will also be done. Know whether the bank will also give you the money back?

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced the ‘100 Days 100 Pay’ campaign along with the announcement of the monetary policy in the month of April itself. If your old account is also closed and some money is lying in it, then this news is very important for you.

Big changes can be seen in the savings account from June 1. RBI has started the ‘100 Days 100 Pay’ campaign for this.

Changes will be made in this campaign regarding unclaimed deposits. The bank will settle those unclaimed amounts, which have been lying with the bank for a long time. That is, if a person has deposited money in the bank, but has not claimed it after that, then RBI will return his unclaimed deposit to the customer.

What is the RBI guideline?

According to the RBI circular, those account holders who have not done any kind of transaction in their savings or current account for 10 years, i.e. whose account is inactive, if money is deposited in their account, then from June 1, 2023, in these accounts Bank will do settlement of the existing amount. Bank will return this amount.

What did RBI say?

RBI has said about this campaign that in this way the benami amount lying in the banks will be reduced. Also, the amount which is there will be delivered to the owners or the claimants. This amount will be given only after completing the process of unclaimed deposit.

How to apply?

If your money is also lying in the bank and your account is inactive, then you can join this campaign. For this, you have to visit the branch of your bank or the official website. You will need to fill in the form and submit it with your signature to claim your deposit. After submitting the account-related documents like the passbook etc. and entering the rest of the details, you will know about your unclaimed deposit amount.

Which documents will be required?

You will have to submit the account-related documents to the bank for your unclaimed amount. You can also e-mail the bank by attaching these documents along with the application form. You will have to submit the request form, a passport-size photograph with your signature, and a photocopy of address proof (Passport, Voter ID, and Aadhaar Card).

How much unclaimed amount in the bank?

According to government data, Rs 35,102 crore is lying in different banks of the country till February 2023. No one has claimed this amount. RBI has also launched a centralized web portal to track unclaimed deposits.
