Sagalee Assembly constituency’s newly elected MLA, Ratu Techi, has initiated a major push for educational reforms in Arunachal Pradesh’s Papum Pare district. The former superintending engineer of the Public Works Department recently completed an extensive tour of government schools, aiming to assess the condition of education and implement significant changes.
Over the course of a week, Techi, along with local leaders and administrative officials, visited schools in six circles—Silsango, Mengio, Parang, Leporiang, Sagalee, and Toru. His inspection tour aligns with the state government’s preparation for rolling out the New Education Policy (NEP).
One of Techi’s key proposals is the consolidation of under-enrolled schools into inter-village residential institutions, a move aimed at optimizing resources and improving educational standards.
Techi highlighted four priority areas: improving teaching quality, promoting digital learning, enhancing physical education, and integrating life skills into the curriculum. He emphasized the importance of providing holistic education to prepare students for future challenges.
