Ramesh hits back at Himanta Biswa Sarma after ‘go to Pakistan’ remark

On Wednesday Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh and Himanta Biswa Sharma clashed over the Assam Chief Minister’s comments that the Congress should go to Pakistan for a ‘Bharat Joro Yatra’.

The senior Congress leader said that Sharma was ‘boyish and immature and had to make such comments to prove his loyalty. “I don’t take the Assam chief minister seriously, because after being part of the Congress for 20-25 years he has to prove his loyalty every day. He is a recent migrant to the BJP, so he has to make offensive statements every day,” Ramesh shouted.

In response to Ramesh’s barbed wire, Sarma said that he does not even know who Jairam Ramesh is. “First tell me, who is Jairam Ramesh? Does he live in Assam? Who is he? I have no idea. Who remembers the name of a Congress leader? I have never been very close to a man with that name. I was in Congress. I don’t even know who he is. Sarma said.

Further, the argument continued.
