Ram Mandir trust Speaks out: Says controversy over land price is an attempt to “derail” the construction

As the ‘Ram Mandir’ plot of land in Ayodhya has come under scrutiny, the Ram Janmbhoomi Trust has issued a factual report on the controversial land deal explaining the price difference of the plot.

The Ram temple trust has said the charges are being concocted by BJP’s rivals. It has also sent its report to the Centre, BJP and RSS, explaining the price difference.

In its statement, the Ram temple trust has said the plot of land is located next to the road approaching the Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir and is of premium value.

Bjp termed the war of words that erupted between the them and the opposition parties on Monday over allegations of corruption in the purchase of land in Ayodhya by the Ram temple trust, as an attempt to “defame” and “derail” the temple construction. While the Congress also demanded a Supreme Court-monitored probe on the situation.

Latching onto the issue to target the BJP and the RSS, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala alleged that it was a “big scam” committed using funds collected from devotees and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should answer the nation.

“The land worth Rs 2 crore was brought at an inflated price of Rs 18.5 crore by Shriram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust” AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh and former UP minister and Samajwadi Party leader Pawan Pandey claimed on Sunday.

The trust’s general secretary Champat Rai had dismissed the allegations as politically motivated and aimed at spreading disinformation.
