Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met Chief Minister N Biren Singh over an elaborate breakfast on Friday at his Luwangshangbam residence.
Rajnath Singh is on the northeastern states on a two-day visit.
Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, party state president A Sharda Devi along with several state ministers and BJP leaders were also present in the meeting.
The Defense Minister then visited the office of the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) at Mantripukhari where he interacted with jawans of the Assam Rifles and personnel of the 57th Mountain Division of the Indian Army.
He inaugurated the Manipur chapter of the 131st Durand Cup at the Khuman Lampak Stadium on Thursday.
