Fresh violence was seen in Panchla Bazaar place in West Bengal’s Howrah district on Saturday as protesters clashed with the police officers and many homes had been set on fire, a senior officer said.Protesters threw stones on policemen, injuring some of them, and also vandalised a BJP party office.Several furnace tenders have been pressed into provider as police lobbed tear gas shells to disperse the protesters, the officer said, adding the scenario used to be “under control” at the moment.
Section 144 CrPC has been imposed in and round the stretches of National Highways and Railway Stations beneath the jurisdiction of Uluberia-Sub Division, Howrah prolonged until 15th June.
