President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurates Dhaka’s renovated Ramana Kali temple

President Ram Nath Kovind has inaugurated the newly restored and renovated, historic Sri Ramana Kali Temple on the third day of his Bangladesh visit. He inaugurated the renovated temple on Friday by unveiling a plaque. The Indian president also offered puja at the temple. He also exchanged greetings with the invited guests, the temple committee members, and the devotees.

It is worth noting that this temple was completely destroyed during the heinous ‘Operation Searchlight’ conducted by the Pakistan Army in the year 1971, which has been restored and inaugurated exactly after 50 years. The inauguration of this renovated temple is not only symbolic but also a very emotional moment for the friendly relations between the two countries. In this regard, Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted a photo of the President worshiping with his family and said that “President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the renovated Ramana Kali Temple in Dhaka. This temple of Goddess Kali is centuries old.”
