Eight cadets from the newly formed 2 Mizo Battalion NCC in Lunglei, Mizoram, showcased a bamboo dance at the Prime Minister’s Rally in January 2026, marking the first representation from South Mizoram at this event. Despite limited preparation time, the cadets displayed exceptional coordination, discipline, and cultural pride, receiving widespread acclaim. The Governor of Mizoram will honor them on March 3, 2026, recognizing their contribution to the state. Col Sagar K Mohanty commended the cadets and their instructors for this achievement, which highlights the potential of Mizoram’s youth and aims to encourage greater participation in the NCC for nation building and integration.
