Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Arunachal Pradesh’s first greenfield airport “Donyi Polo Airport” at Holangi, Itanagar on November 19, 2022. The airport is named Doni Polo as a reflection of the rich culture and heritage of Arunachal Pradesh with ‘Donyi’ meaning sun and ‘Polo’ meaning moon.
The airport at Hollongi, near the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh, will connect the border state with other Indian cities as well as commercial flights through helicopter services to other parts of Arunachal Pradesh.
