Prime Minister Modi will visit Patna on Tuesday to attend the closing ceremony of Bihar Assembly centenary celebrations and lay the foundation stone of a museum there.
PM Narendra Modi tweeted, “In the nighttime, tomorrow, the twelfth of July, will be in Patna to attend a program to mark the closing ceremony of centenary celebrations of Bihar Legislative Assembly. The foundation stone of the Vidhan Sabha museum will be laid,” on Monday evening.
Security has been beefed up along the route Narendra Modi will take to reach the venue and has been lined with banners, posters and arches. Governor Fagu Chauhan and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be among those who will welcome Modi at the Patna airport.
Bihar Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha said this is the first time a Prime Minister will visit the House. “This makes it a historic occasion for Bihar and everyone is excited. All arrangements have been made. Nitish Kumar himself is monitoring the system.”
He said that Modi would plant a sapling and inaugurate the centenary memorial garden with a hundred varieties of medicinal plants. “He will lay the foundation stone for the House’s 100-year exhibition museum… The museum is built on a landmark of Parliament. He will also launch an e-book at the rally,” Sinha said.
Modi will unveil the 40-feet tall “Shatabdi Stambha (Centenary Pillar)” at the House complex. President Ram Nath Kovind laid the foundation to close the 12 months he visited to address lawmakers as part of his Bihar centenary celebrations.
