Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud held bilateral and delegation-level talks in New Delhi. The leaders discussed ways to enhance the potential of the India-Saudi Arabia strategic partnership by reviewing various aspects of bilateral relations.
PM Modi emphasized India-Saudi Arabia partnership’s importance for regional stability, global welfare, and India’s interests, and announced the establishment of a historic economic corridor between India, West Asia, and Europe. The Prime Minister said, this corridor will not only connect the two countries but will also help in facilitating economic development and digital connectivity between Asia, West Asia and Europe. The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia stated that India-Saudi Arabia relations have never faced disagreements, but rather cooperation to build the future and create opportunities. He said, that “today’s talks will provide new energy and direction to the relations. This will inspire us to work together for the welfare of humanity”.
India and Saudi Arabia have signed the minutes of the India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council, highlighting their friendly relations. India is the second largest trading partner of Saudi Arabia, and their bilateral trade reached $52 billion in 2022-23. Saudi Arabia is a key partner for energy security.
