PM Modi on saturday(23rd September 2023) laid the foundation stone of International cricket stadium in Varanasi. This stadium will be the third international stadium in Uttar Pradesh after Kanpur and Lucknow.
The cricket superstars Sachin Tendulkar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar were also present at the event.
The design of the stadium is based on the lifestyle of Lord Shiva, the stadium will have a crescent-shaped roof covers, trident-shaped flood-lights, ghat steps-based seating, Bilvipatra-shaped metallic sheets on the facade. The stadium will be constructed in a area of 30-acre, costing Rupees 450 crores. Around 30,000 spectators can be accommodated in a stadium.
