PM Modi launches Vishwakarma Scheme for traditional artisans and craftspersons, urges people to be ‘vocal for local’

PM Narendra Modi turned a year older on Sunday(17th of September) now he is 73 years old. On the auspicious occasion of Vishwakarma Puja he extended his greetings to the nation.

He also launched a PM Vishwakarma scheme to help the artisans, craftsmen, and all those involved in traditional skills. The scheme is fully funded by the central govt. with an outlay of rupees 13 thousand crore.

Under the scheme the vishwakarma partners will be provided special training and will be provided rupees 500 per month during the training. Toolkit vouchers has been also launched by the government worth rupees 1,500. It has been also assured that the vishwakarma partners will also get help in branding, packaging, and marketing the products made by them. In return what the govt. want is just to purchase toolkits from shops which are GST registered only.
