Patanjali Foods Ltd to build oil palm mill in Mizoram

Edible oil giant Patanjali Foods Ltd is set to establish an oil palm mill in Mizoram, a move aimed at boosting the state’s agricultural and industrial sectors. The mill will be located in Liapha, Lawngtlai district, in southern Mizoram, with the project expected to be completed within a year, according to an official statement.

Two senior representatives from Patanjali Foods met Chief Minister Lalduhoma in Aizawl on Thursday to discuss the project. The company has committed to procuring oil palm from farmers across Serchhip, Lunglei, Lawngtlai, and Siaha districts, providing a much-needed market for local cultivators.

Chief Minister Lalduhoma addressed challenges faced by oil palm farmers in southern Mizoram and shared the state government’s initiatives to promote oil palm cultivation. The company representatives assured the CM of their plans to enhance oil palm farming in the region, aligning with Mizoram’s agricultural development goals.
