A Parliamentary commission has noticed that the Delhi Police has up to 13,525 unfilled positions, or almost 14% of the 94,254 authorised positions.
The hiring process for the 3,861 open positions is now underway, according to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs, which is chaired by BJP MP Brijlal. The committee also suggested that the hiring process be finished within a set timeline.
The committee’s report, which was delivered to Parliament on Friday, noted that there were 13,525 open positions in the Delhi Police, which amounted to about 14% of the 94,254 authorised positions.
