No political favours in jobs: CM Saha highlights transparent hiring

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday asserted that the state government is committed to transparent and merit-based recruitment, contrasting it with alleged political interference during the previous regime.Speaking at a job offer distribution and blood donation programme at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala, CM Saha handed over appointment letters to 15 newly selected food inspectors through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). He emphasized that every recruitment under his government has been based on talent, skill, and adherence to official procedures.

“No one can say they got a job using political links or through any influential person. Appointments are now made in a transparent manner — not from party offices or delivered at people’s homes, as was the case earlier,” Saha remarked. He said that since coming to power, his government has provided over 19,200 jobs, including under the die-in-harness scheme.

Highlighting efforts in the agricultural sector, CM Saha noted that the government had procured over 2.25 lakh metric tons of paddy from farmers since 2018 at Minimum Support Price (MSP), crediting ₹446 crore directly into farmers’ accounts.
