Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has been recognized for its leadership in corporate sustainability by CDP, a global environmental NGO. The company has been on CDP’s A List for five consecutive years for its efforts in water security and has also been a leader in climate change for 11 consecutive years. CDP has praised Nissan for its comprehensive management of climate change and water security challenges, a climate change-based executive compensation system, and promoting a 2050 carbon neutrality goal. The company launched the world’s first EV manufacturing ecosystem at its Sunderland plant, aligning with a science-based target initiative.
Nissan also conducted water risk assessments at production sites, reduced water usage through recycling and rainwater use, and exceeded regulations in drainage water management standards. The nonprofit charity’s annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is considered the global gold standard for corporate environmental transparency.
Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida says, “We are very proud to once again receive CDP’s A listing in the water security category and its recognition for our consistent leadership efforts in the climate change category. Determined to meet the expectations of all stakeholders, Nissan will continue driving sustainability initiatives to build a cleaner, safer and more inclusive world.”
