Nissan Motor India unveiled a first look at its upcoming C-SUV, the All-New Tekton, ahead of its 2026 launch. Drawing inspiration from the legendary Nissan Patrol, the Tekton combines bold design, premium craftsmanship, and advanced technology to appeal to modern Indian consumers. The name “Tekton,” of Greek origin meaning “craftsman” or “architect,” reflects Nissan’s focus on precision engineering and innovation.
The Tekton is the second model under Nissan’s “One Car, One World” strategy, produced in partnership with Renault at the Chennai plant for domestic sale and exports to select global markets. Its design features a sculpted bonnet, signature C-shaped headlamps, muscular side profile, and a rear illuminated lightbar, with subtle mountain motifs on the front doors paying homage to the Himalayas. Nissan executives emphasize that the Tekton is engineered to disrupt and dominate the C-SUV segment in India.
Local dealers report rising anticipation for the Tekton, with buyers attracted to its premium interiors, commanding stance, and SUV reliability. Analysts say this could strengthen Nissan’s foothold in the Northeast, a growing market for compact and mid-size SUVs, signaling potential strong sales in the region upon launch. Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan India, said the Tekton would be central to Nissan’s resurgence story, positioning the brand for long-term growth in the country.
