Nissan EV sales achieved the 1 million unit milestone globally

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announces that its global sales of electric vehicles have surpassed the 1 million unit milestone. Since its launch in December 2010, the Nissan LEAF has sold more than 650,000units worldwide. The model, currently sold in approximately 50 markets centering on Japan, the U.S. and Europe, continues to be highly evaluated by customers around the globe and has won numerous, prestigious awards in multiple markets.

Nissan launched the Nissan Ariya all-electric crossover in 2022, featuring advanced technologies like e-4ORCE all-wheel control and ProPILOT2.0 river support. The sophisticated design won the Auto Color Award 2021 Grand Prix in Japan and the Red Dot Design Award in Germany, and was named to Wards 10 Best Interiors & UXlist. Nissan launched the Sakura in 2022, its first electric vehicle in Japan, with 50,000 orders.

Its cabin quietness, smooth acceleration, spacious interior, and ample daily driving range make it a popular choice. Sakura has won three prestigious awards in Japan, including the 2022-2023 Japan Car of the Year, 2023 RJC Car of the Year, and 2023 JAHFA Car of the Year, for its contribution to electrification momentum. Nissan Ambition 2030 aims to launch 19 electric vehicles by 2030, including in-house all-solid-state batteries by 2028. The company plans to expand its EV lineup to meet global customer needs.
