Picnic goers need to follow newly issued SOP, Assam

The Assam Government has issued SOP for picnic goers due to the recent tragic incident which took place in Dergaon. Assam CM directs, buses carrying passengers for picnic can only operate after the fog clears in the morning and must arrive before the fog clears in the evening. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "People should not start travelling for picnic so early in the morning. Assam govt in a move to motivate minorities within the education sector

In a move to fostering diversity within the education sector, the Assam Government has decided to reserve three percent of seats for the Tea tribe and Adivasi communities. Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu via X announced the initiative to reserve seats in the current teachers recruitment which is going to be held soon. Assam ‘Gunotsav 2024’ starts across 35 districts

The state government is all set to assess students performances including school through 'Gunotsav 2024'. Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said, the assessment is to get started by January 3 to February 8 of this year which will conduct an assessment for approximately 40 lakh students state wide. Bus collides with truck in Assam’s Dergaon killing 14 passengers

A bus collided with a truck in Dergaon, Assam which carried 45 passengers, the incident took place on 3 January early hours. According to sources, amongst the 45 passengers, 14 people died and 27 others were injured. The incident took place on the way when the bus was heading towards Tilinga Mandir, Tinsukia where the truck came in contact with the bus. A team of 16 farmers has successfully exported 500kg of lablab or flat beans to the New Spitalfields market in London, from where farmers’ fresh products go to various European countries. To reports, along with flat beans from Sivasagar, farmers of Tinsukia District have also dispatched 5,000 lemons which are known as Kaji Nemu in Assam.
