The Mizoram government is set to introduce prepaid smart meters under the Centre's Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), aiming to enhance electricity distribution and efficiency. The state’s power and electricity department signed an agreement with Advance Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP) on November 21 for the project. Supported by central funding exceeding ₹170 crore, the initiative will cover the installation of smart meters for 2,89,383 consumers.
