Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha assured the state assembly on Wednesday that he would raise concerns with the Centre regarding the construction of a massive embankment by the Bangladesh government near the Kailashahar subdivision in Unakoti district. The issue was highlighted by Congress legislator Birajit Sinha, who warned of potential flooding risks if Tripura’s existing 40-year-old embankment at Rangaoti is not urgently strengthened. “If our embankment is not fortified, the people of Kailashahar will face severe hardships during floods,” Sinha said.
