In a bid to bridge the gap in Aadhaar coverage for young children, the Tripura government has launched an intensive enrolment drive targeting children aged 0-5. With an estimated 2.87 lakh children in this age group, the state is focused on ensuring that more children are included in the Aadhaar system to streamline access to essential government services. Currently, only 98,000 children—around 34 percent of the target population—have been issued Aadhaar cards, which is slightly below the national average of 38 percent.
