Mizoram Police seize ₹7.17 lakh worth of heroin in vehicle check

Mizoram police arrested a man and seized heroin worth ₹7.17 lakh during a routine vehicle check at the Vairengte check gate on October 19. The police intercepted a vehicle traveling towards Silchar, Assam, and discovered 239.18 grams of heroin concealed inside. The arrested individual, identified as 38-year-old Lalchhanchuaha from Venglai East in Kolasib, is currently in custody. The driver of the vehicle, Khundra Pam (55), also from Kolasib, managed to escape the scene and is still at large. Authorities have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and launched an investigation.
