Delhi records the lowest temperature for the season

The national capital recorded its lowest temperature of the season at 8.3 degrees Celsius on Saturday, one notch below the average. The air quality remained (AQI) in the city at 8 am stood at 302, which falls in the very poor category. Neighbouring Faridabad stood 266, Ghaziabad stood 262, Greater Noida stood 224 , Gurgaon stood 288 and Noida stood 254 also recorded air quality in the poor category. A group of people in Pakistan stripped four women, including a teenager, dragged and beat them up after accusing them of “shoplifting” in the country’s Punjab. Will urge Centre for opening of trade with Pak via land route: Punjab CM Channi

31 people killed by terrorists attack on bus in Mali

31 people were killed and eight others were injured after terrorists' attack on a bus in Mali, a source told news agency Sputnik. The incident took place not much far from the eastern Malian town of Bandiagara, the Mopti region. Mali's situation was destabilized in 2012 when the Tuareg militants seized vast territories in the northern part of the country. 75 trains cancelled due to Cyclone named Jawad

With the cyclonic storm, Jawad, expected to make landfall, Indian Railways has cancelled around 36 trains that were scheduled to depart on December 4. These mostly include trains that were scheduled to depart from Visakhapatnam, Howrah and Puri. World Gold Council Members contributed $38bn to local economies in 2020

World Gold Council has released a report where it highlights the role of its members, many of the world’s most forward-thinking gold mining companies, in contributing to socio-economic development in the countries and communities where they operate. Collectively, WGC member companies contributed$37.9bn to the GDP of the countries where they operate in the form of taxes, salaries and payments to suppliers. This represented 63% of the total revenue they received from gold sales and equates to almost US$1,100 in value added locally for every ounce of gold produced.

52 killed in Russian mine accident

A total of 52 people, including six rescuers, were killed after smoke occurred in a coal mine in Russia’s Kemerovo Region. It was the most deadly mine accident in five years in the country. Strong earthquake of 6.3 magnitude tremorises Bangladesh

A shallow and strong earthquake of magnitude 6.3 was felt in Bangladesh today early morning which was reported at 5.15 am with its epicentre at a depth of 175 km east of Chittagong, Bangladesh (Myanmar-India border region), according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The depth of the quake was 60 km. So far, no reports of any damage have surfaced.

India’s Chandrayaan-2 avoids collision with NASA’s moon orbiter

For the first time in its space exploration mission, a measure was carried out recently to avoid the collision between Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter and US' Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said. Schools, colleges closed in Delhi reports NCR; construction activities are halted

All schools, colleges and educational institutions in Delhi have been asked to remain closed until further notice in view of air pollution. On Tuesday night, the Commission for Air Quality Management issued an order wherein it directed that schools, colleges and educational institutions remain shut.
