Fuel prices in India hike for the 28th time since May

Petrol and diesel prices in India hiked again on Sunday, witnessing a trend of record highs in fuel prices. In Delhi, petrol was hiked by 29 paise and diesel by 27 paise. With this, a litre of petrol now costs Rs 97.22 in the national capital and diesel is retailing at Rs 87.97 per litre. With the latest revision by the state-run Oil Marketing Companies (OMC), the fuel rates have hiked for the 28th time since May 4. Indian mission at UN deems new IT Social Media rules “necessary”

The Indian government addressed the United Nations Human Rights Council about the new IT rules for social media companies. The government told the Council that the formulation of the new rules was necessitated by the concerns over increased instances of abuse of new media platforms including inducement for recruitment of terrorists, obscene content, financial frauds and incitement of violence.
