The National Medical Commission has issued a notice providing relief to the Registered Medical Practitioner from abusive and violent behaviour of patients or relatives. Doctors can now refuse to treat patients because of their abusive or violent activities. The initiative has been taken to discourage the violence against doctors. "The RMP who attends to the patient will be fully accountable for his actions and entitled to the appropriate fees.
