The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, supported by a coalition of opposition parties, has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The complaint, filed at Dispur Police Station on Wednesday, accuses Sarma of fostering communal discord and promoting enmity between different religious and racial communities.The opposition alliance includes the Assam Congress, Assam Jatiya Parishad, CPI(M), Raijor Dal, CPI, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Janata Dal (United), Trinamool Congress, and CPI(ML).
