Silchar truck attack leaves football team in critical condition

A local football tournament in Silchar, Assam, took a violent turn on Wednesday night when unidentified miscreants attacked a truck carrying players and supporters of the Nazia Enterprise team from Lailapur. The group was returning home after the second semi-final of the Matribhumi Cup when the incident occurred in the Bhaga Bazar area. The attackers pelted stones at the truck, injuring the driver and causing the vehicle to lose control, leading to injuries for more than 20 passengers. Among the injured, two individuals are reported to be in critical condition and are receiving urgent medical treatment.
