3,00,355 houses under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojna Gramin (PMAY-G) have been completed in Assam till date. Out of these 1 lakh has been completed since January, 2020, in spite of critical environment of COVID-19 pandemic, scarcity of materials in hill districts and also paucity of skilled Masons in most parts of the state. A massive explosion has been reported from one of the Oil India wells in Baghjan in Assam's Tinsukia district. The explosion happened when an operation was underway to douse the fire that has been raging at the Baghjan oil field for 56 days now.
