The Assam government will take a call on High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC or Class 10) and Higher Secondary (HS or Class 12) final exams today. Officials from the education department of the state, chief minister, and officials from both Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) and Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) will discuss the matter today. Man allegedly beaten to death in Assam on suspicion of cow theft

A 34-year-old man was beaten to death in a village in Tinsukia district of Assam by a mob that suspected him of being a cow thief and the police have arrested 12 people in connection with the incident. The incident took place at Korjonga village in the district and the victim has been identified as Sarat Moran. A football stadium-turned 300-bed COVID-19 hospital was inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday at Sarusajai Stadium complex in Guwahati in preparation for a potential third wave.
