Nestlé India is incorporating millets as an ingredient to provide consumers with more diverse food options. Nestlé India is promoting millet as a sustainable food option through partnerships and product innovations, aligning with the government’s focus on millets. The company has launched Nestlé a+ Masala Millet, containing bajra, a light meal suitable for any time of day.
Nestlé a+ Masala Millet is available in two flavors, Tangy Tomato and Veggie Masala, and is available in a multi-serve pack for Rs. 175 and a single-serve pack for Rs. 30. Nestlé India has launched several breakfast cereals, including Nestlé CEREGROWGrain Selection with ragi, NestléMILOCocoa Malt with bajra, and NestléKOKO KRUNCH Millet-Jowar, all of which are high in fibre, 30% less calories, and free from preservatives.
India, a major millet producer, has partnered with Nestlé’s Nutrihub-IIMR to collaborate on millet processing, health benefits, sustainable agriculture practices, and start-ups, as India accounts for 20% of global millet production. Mr. Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director, Nestlé India said, “We have already introduced millets into some of our products and the launch of Nestlé a+ Masala Millet is another step in that direction.”
