Nagaland Chief Minister Nephiu Rio will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah next week along with legislators from the All-Party United Democratic Alliance to discuss resolving the decade-old Naga political issue, a state minister said on Friday.
The decision was taken at the first meeting of the core committee of the state government’s Parliamentary Committee on Naga Issues on Friday after 21 of the 25 Naga People’s Front (NPF) legislators merged into the Nationalist Democratic Party on April 29. Progressive Party (NDPP).
The Parliamentary Committee on Naga Political Issues consists of 60 members of the Nagaland Assembly and two MPs from the state.
The core committee elected representatives from all political parties in the state, NDPP, BJP, NPF and Independents.
