MSDE, NSDC collaborate on vocational education for Indian youth

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), have emphasized the importance of vocational education and skill training for Indian youth. They conducted a workshop to discuss the role of Sector Skill Councils in enhancing the skill ecosystem and responding to industry needs. The workshop focused on the need for industry-driven skill training programs for various job roles across different sectors.

The workshop featured Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of MSDE. The event brought together 36 SSCs, CEOs, and Chairpersons to discuss mapping skills and qualifications with international standards for youth, preparing them for international markets, and prioritizing awareness and counseling sessions on long-term training programs.

Industry-partnered infrastructure in AI, machine learning, blockchain, and other fields will enhance on-the-job training, integrating real-world scenarios, and providing expert guidance, boosting overseas mobility and placements. Speaking at the event, Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), He highlighted the need for a centralized and outcome-oriented approach that integrates curriculum development and experiential learning courses, with Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) playing a pivotal role.
