The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) and Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) have signed an MoU for the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Abhiyaan (PMJANMAN) Scheme in Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) habitations. The partnership aims to converge efforts toward vocational education and skills under the PMJANMAN scheme.
Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of MSDE, said that skilling will play a transformational role in upgrading the livelihood opportunities of tribal groups. As part of the MoU, TRIFED will facilitate coordination with State Implementation Agencies (SIAs) for the mobilization of communities to form Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) and share knowledge on possible economic activities for establishing sustainable VDVKs.
NIESBUD will undertake mobilization for the formation of aggregated groups, assess training needs of respective VDVKs, develop training modules, and conduct training through identified training institutions or mentoring agencies.The PMJANMAN scheme will equip PVTG households and habitations with basic facilities such as safe housing, clean drinking water and sanitation, improved access to education, health and nutrition, road and telecom connectivity, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
