Mohammad Yousuf Gorsi, the senior leader of the National Conference and the head of the Anantnag District Development Council (DDC), defected to the Democratic Progressive Azad Party on Sunday, dealing a blow to the party (DPAP). The DPAP said in a statement that Gorsi joined the party in the presence of Ghulam Nabi Azad, the party’s chairman, and other senior leaders.
Addressing at the event, Gorsi stated that a creative and forward-thinking leader is needed to pull Jammu and Kashmir out of its political quagmire.
