Mizoram’s YMA condemns Manipur attacks, Calls for full inquiry

The Central Coordination Committee (CCC) of the Mizoram Young Mizo Association (YMA) has condemned recent violent incidents in Manipur, demanding justice and a thorough inquiry by the Central Government. The CCC expressed deep concern over attacks in Jiribam’s Zaiawn village on November 7, which involved arson and vandalism, resulting in 17 homes being destroyed.

In a November 13 meeting, the CCC passed resolutions denouncing the killings, including the shooting of local teacher Mrs. Zosangkim Hmar. Additionally, the committee condemned an alleged incident on November 11 where Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel reportedly opened fire, resulting in 10 deaths and one injury.

The association has labeled these actions as “barbaric” and has called for financial compensation for the victims’ families. Stressing the urgency of peace, the YMA urged the Central Government to address the escalating unrest in Manipur promptly and bring justice to those affected.
