Mizo pop sensation Feli Fanai-one of the most celebrated voices in the region’s music scene- passed away in the early hours of February 12, at 2:15 AM. She was reportedly in her early 30s. As per reports, Fanai breathed her last at Ebenezer Hospital, Aizawl, after battling a prolonged illness. She had been in intensive care since December 20, 2024, first at Aizawl Hospital and later transferred to Ebenezer Hospital on January 6 in hopes of recovery.
Fanai played a pivotal role in shaping the neo-Mizo pop movement, fusing contemporary sounds with the region’s rich musical heritage. Her visually stunning music videos and soulful compositions cemented her status as one of Mizoram’s most beloved artists. News of Fanai’s death has triggered an outpouring of grief on social media, with fans and fellow artists mourning the loss of a star who redefined Mizo pop music.
