Esther Lalduhawmi Hnamte was awarded India’s highest civilian honour for children, the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2025, during a ceremony held at Lok Bhavan, Aizawl, where she was felicitated by Mizoram Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh. The Governor praised her achievement, highlighting its significance for both Mizoram and the nation, and encouraged her to pursue disciplined training for future excellence. The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, established by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, acknowledges exceptional accomplishments of children aged 5 to 18 across seven categories: Bravery, Art & Culture, Environment, Innovation, Social Service, Science & Technology, and Sports. In total, 20 children from 18 States and Union Territories received the award this year, with Esther recognized specifically in the Art & Culture category by President Droupadi Murmu at an event in New Delhi on December 26, 2025.
