Three people have been arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in the Basant Vihar area of the Country’s capital, police said.
The incident took place around July 6 and the police received the complaint on July 8.
Based on the complainant’s statement, a case was registered against the three accused – aged 23, 25 and 35 – under the relevant sections of rape in the Indian Penal Code and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
Police said the survivor had gone for a ride with the three accused men in their car on July 6 at 8.30 pm.
Delhi Police said, “A PCR call was received from SJ Hospital around 4 am on July 8 where the caller reported an incident of harassment with a minor.”
“On examination with the counselor, the woman revealed that two respectable men met her near Vasant Vihar Bazar on July 6 and proposed a pleasure trip, where all four went to Mohipalpur and consumed alcohol. After that, they went to a secluded neighborhood where the men raped her inside the car,” police said.
However, no external accidents were reported to the survivors.
Further investigation of dependency is in progress.
